Meeting with the Mirror

Year after year
There she lies
With a glassy beauty
Surprisingly gone unnoticed
A few surreptitious glances
Were all that she received

But one day
With an unseen yet ineffable force
She called me to her side
And spoke something into my ears
Into my mind
Something that changed me
That was a mere two months ago

And now
Twice a day
In the morning and evening
I meet with her
By her side
She enchants me

Overnight has she changed me
From a haphazard figure
To a one consumed by vanity
The hair
The face
The body
I meet with her daily
Advices she gives
Benefit me to no end

And now
Twice a day
In the morning and evening
I meet with her
By her side
She enchants me
A meeting with the mirror
